Jerry and Perry (deceased) were born to Dorothy Mae Hunter on July 16, 1955
Jerry was educated in district 500 after leaving school he enlisted in the United States Army. After a brief stay, he returned back home and began his work journey. Jerry worked for Hezekiah barbecue restaurant as a cook, he also drove the ice cream truck. Neither of those professions worked for him. He didn't let that discourage him Jerry was a hard worker after a couple of other mishaps he was employed by Deffenbaugh as Sanitation worker. He worked this job for over 40 years until it began to cause health issues for him.
Jerry was never without a church home on Sundays he would be at church. He would walk if he couldn't get a ride. Jerry decided to join the Guiding Star Missionary Baptist Church to e with his family under the leadership of Pastor David Lee. He loved working in the church whenever dinners were served he would stay to make sure the dining area was cleaned from sweeping to taking out the trash.
Jerry (Champ) has been reunited with both parents and brothers Perry Hunter (twin) Charles Hunter, Roylee Hunter and Eddie Joe Hunter sisters Charlie Mae Hunter, Gearline Ruff, Christine Hunter, Johanna Hunter and Antoinette Hunter.
Jerry was a kind, gentle and loving person. He loved being around and helping people he will be missed.
He leaves behind a son Jerry Hunter Jr, grandchildren Dayvon Hunter, Samara Hunter, Tamya Hunter, Damon Hunter, Darwin Hunter. Cornelius Hunter, Adriana Hunter, Malika Hunter, Jeremiah Hunter, Jerry Hunter II and two great grandchildren with another on the way all of Kansas City Kansas Two sisters Dorothy Ruth Hunter and Geraldine Hunter. Two brothers Cornell Hunter and Javelle (Theresa) Hunter of Kansas City Kansas. Sister in law Evangeline Hunter and a generous amount of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Miss Beverly Kelsey friend/sister you were his chauffeur, accountant, nurse, sounding board, counselor, cook, telephone operator and caregiver. The family wants you to know that we appreciate everything you did. Miss Beverly may the Lord continue to Bless you.
