Cleophus D James Obituary (1963

On Saturday April 9, 2022, Cleophus Darnell James departed this life. He departed this life to rejoice in a better place. Cleophus Darnell James was born on August 13, 1963 in Kansas City, Kansas, to Cleothus and Gwendolyn James. Cleophus Darnell was the middle child of three children. At the age of three, Cleophus Darnell was baptized by the late Reverend R.C. Higgs at Bethel Baptist Church, where at the age of 12 he accepted Jesus as his personal savior. Cleophus graduated from Wyandotte High School of Kansas City, Kansas. Cleophus Darnell went on to attend Wichita State University. Cleophus Darnell James was a loving father, son, and brother. Cleophus Darnell spent his past time talking and laughing with family and friends. He also spent his time spreading God's word. Cleophus Darnell James preceded his father Cleothus James in death. Cleothus and Gwendolyn James were married 46 years before his fathers passing. Cleophus Darnell James leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Gwendolyn James; his sister, Linda Gayle Pollard; his brother, Shawn Latroy James; his daughters, Breanna James and Mykyia James; his grandchildren, Kihmia and Mckynlee; his nieces and nephews, Carl E. Pollard Jr., Tamisha R. Donley-Akins, Daraja Pollard, Colse Pollard, Malik, Marcus, Tamia and Tiarra Akins, and Ajaha James; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Cleophus Darnell loved his entire family and bragging about his girls. He is truly loved by his family and friends. Cleophus Darnell will be truly missed. Until we meet again. Rest in peace.
