In Loving Memory of
Ira Douglas “Doug” Williams
July 22, 1973 – September 11, 2026
Ira Douglas “Doug” Williams was born on July 22, 1973, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Lester A. Williams and Connie C. Williams. Doug passed away on September 11, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, friendships, laughter, and love that will continue through all those who knew him.
Doug is survived by his only son and best friend, Matthew Douglas Williams, who was the greatest accomplishment and deepest pride of his life.
He is also survived by his brothers, Tom Williams (Denise) and Michael Williams (Juanita); sisters, Regina Sizemore (Kenny) and Debbie Meredith; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who became family along the way.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Connie and Lester Williams; sisters Penny Arndt and Phylis Kraus; and brothers Jerry Smith and Ronnie Smith.
Doug lived his life for others. He was always the first to jump at the chance to help a friend or family member in need. He never met a stranger and could talk for hours with anyone he crossed paths with. His larger-than-life personality, infectious laugh, and generous heart left an impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Some of Doug's happiest and most treasured years were spent on the sidelines, coaching and supporting his son through years of baseball and football. He was Matthew's biggest supporter and proudest father. Whether he was coaching, cheering, encouraging, or simply being there, Doug made sure his son always knew he was loved and believed in.
Doug loved sports of all kinds, especially football, baseball, and NASCAR. His passion for sports was only matched by his passion for the people he loved.
Doug's time on this earth was cut far too short. But the years he was given were filled with people he loved, memories that will never fade, and a son who carries his love and legacy forward.
His time here may have been cut short, but his story is not over. It is simply paused until the people he loved join him again.
With Gratitude
The family would like to extend our deepest and most heartfelt thanks to Holly and Terry Skinner for their incredible love, kindness, and support during this difficult time.
We are also grateful to Larry Barrera and Foster's for providing catering and the use of their space. Larry was a special friend to Doug for most of his life, and that friendship means more than words can express.
Thank you to everyone who donated, offered support, shared a memory, sent a message, or simply stood beside our family during this difficult time. Every act of kindness has meant so much.
A very special thank you goes to Northern Star Mortuary for their kindness, compassion, and support, as well as their cremation services. Their genuine passion for helping families through some of life's most difficult moments is truly overflowing, and our family is deeply grateful.
Doug will be remembered for his enormous heart, his unforgettable laugh, his love of sports, his willingness to help others, and most of all, for being Matthew's dad and best friend.
Until we meet again, Doug.
