Kimberly Lee

–

Kansas City, Missouri

Kimberly Lee peacefully made her transition to her heavenly home on June 22, 2026, at the age of 65. She was born on June 19. 1961, in Carrollton, Missouri, to the late Thomas Kyle Thornton and Eleanor Jacquelyn Thornton. Kimberly was the fifth of their children and was blessed with a life centered on faith, family, and service to others.
Kimberly attended Southeast High School and was a member of Bowers Memorial C.M.E Church. Throughout her career, she was a dedicated driver for Vancom, O'Reilly Auto Parts, and LNC with the Kansas City School District. She took pride in her work and was known for her reliability, kindness, and willingness to help anyone in need.
Kimberly had an extraordinary heart. She never met a stranger and had a gift for making everyone feel like family. She was an adopted mother to many, always opening her heart, offering wisdom, encouragement, and unconditional love. If someone needed a helping hand, Kimberly was there without hesitation.
Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She treasured every moment spent with them, creating memories filled with laughter, love, and togetherness. Kimberly was everyone's biggest supporter. Whether it was celebrating accomplishments, showing up for special occasions, or simply being present, she made sure the people she loved knew they could always count on her.
Kimberly had a fun-loving spirit and enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan although she cheered for the Kansas City Chiefs as well. She adored elephants and miniature figurines, and loved spending hours browsing thrift stores in search of unique treasures to add to her collections. She believed that some of life's greatest joys could be found in the most unexpected places.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Thomas Kyle Thornton and Eleanor Jacquelyn Thornton; her son, Andre Lee; her brothers, Gary Bandy (Arlene), Michael Thornton (Camille), and Thomas Thornton (Billie); her sister, Janet Thornton; and her niece, Brandy Thornton (Deaujanea).
Kimberly leaves to cherish her memory her two children from her marriage to Granville Lee: her daughter, Teonna Lee Hardin (Rapheal), and her son, Bryan Lee (Ratina). She is also survived by her loving sister, Frances Carpenter (Raymond); her nephew, Dewayne Thornton; and her cherished grandchildren. Bryan Lee Jr., Tyliyah Lee, Aaliyah Sexton, Bryson Hardin, and Amir Lee. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever touched by her kindness and love.
Although Kimberly's earthly journey has come to an end, her love, generosity, and beautiful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Her legacy is one of compassion, strength, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love.
"Goodbyes are not forever, are not the end; it simply means I'll miss you until we meet again."
